Soft as Snow is the Berlin-based, Norwegian duo of Oda Starheim and Øystein Monsen. With rough sampling, slippery rhythms and noisy textures, their raw electronic productions
are accompanied by Oda’s shapeshifting voice creating a warped-yet-warm physicality. The duo’s latest album was released on genre-agnostic Portland label Beacon Sound and features CURL co-founder Brother May.
Their catalogue further includes full-length releases on notable labels such as fabric’s imprint Houndstooth and Infinite Machine, with features in i-D, The Wire, Clash, DJ Mag, NTS and BBC Radio amongst others. Alongside their albums their output involves a series of noise-driven impro based work on progressive tape labels.
